Re: Anyword on 5.1

BTW you only need to buy it on one toon ever.

I did so now when I one day level an alt it'll get more rep while questing.

Raid groups are no longer necessary to enter pre-Mists of Pandara raid dungeons. Enemies in these raids that previously required more than one player to defeat are now more easily dealt with by players battling alone.

Best change since Transmog... anyone tried this yet? Going to be seeing a lot of BT,Ulduar, Nax, Kara and ICC in the near future!

Hmm... we 5-manned some ICC 25N last night and I still don't see doing loot ship solo... or Festergut (10 stacks is still instakill). Maybe the nerfs are heavier in 10m normal.

On fester if you only had one wouldn't the spore just always be on the one?

So when he does his thing the one would have 3 stacks of inoculate

I have not tried any of this yet so I have to ask; does this new solo raid change give a "solo" option to raids (in addition to 10/25) or does the raid just detect when you are solo?

Or perhaps the mechanics for pre-mist raid bosses that were previously multiplayer required (BT Council and Gunship come to mind) are now removed/changed to allow for easier solo ability regardless of 10 or 25.

There is no third option. You don't need to convert your party into a "raid group" to go in, though I could still set the raid difficulty level for my group. I don't know if it auto corrects for soloists.

Yes the "no raid" old raids is a great things. I did solo'd all of MC and BWL last night. I'm working on the old raid pets that they added. Got 2 from MC and 1 from BWL.

First boss in BWL was still hard to solo at 90. I wiped once in there on him... Is it wiped or died? These solo raids cause a few terminology issues.

I was really hoping for an increase in VP from boss kills. 180 from MSV LFR > 150 you get from a full clear on normal.

Basically:

LFR= 30vp/boss

Normal= 25vp/boss

wtf?

90 VP for LFR is way to low. How can the first 5man of the day be almost equal in a LFR run?

ToES LFR is still super painful. It take a couple of weeks for everyone to know their roles. These are the times I catch myself being jealous of you 25M raiders... you guys can do a whole LFR for giggles without a single stranger. But I'd hate to try to manage a 25m raiding crew.

I kill 10 raid bosses a week right now...6/6 MSV, 4/6 HoF. That's 250 Valor Points...

It's possible to kill 5 bosses in LFR and get 450...

I realize that many more people have the opportunity to do LFR than kill 10 bosses a week in normal, but let's be realistic here...How man of those people killing 10 or more bosses a week need anything from LFR but the 90 Valor Points? Not many...that's for sure.

I'm probably in the lower 1/3 for average ilvl in my raid group and there is 1 upgrade for me in LFR (outside of helm+shoulder tokens) and maybe a couple of pieces with better stat allocation.

Herding people through LFR who don't need gear decreases queue time for everyone, certainly. But in my opinion it leads directly to people half-assing and afk'ing their way through so they get their free VP at the end, ultimately making things more difficult for people who not only need gear, but want to be there and enjoy that difficulty of content. Not to mention the sheer amount of loot I've had to DE because it's useless to me...I'm not sure how the Wizard does things behind his curtain, but surely there's someone out there who's tried a hundred times to get the item I'm destroying...who knows if they would have been in my spot that the item wouldn't be theirs and put to use instead of going to me and ending up as crafting materials in the AH.

Basically, I don't like the fact that in order for me to cap my Valor Points I've got to kill my 10 raid bosses per week AND either do 25 daily quests 7 days a week, 12 heroics, or all 5 LFR sections + 300 VP worth of dailies/heroics.

Maybe I was just spoiled by the way things used to be; when killing all and sometimes even most bosses in a current tier would be enough to reach the weekly cap...

WHAT WHAT WHAT 25?

you can do more than 25.

BTW if you do ALL of the VP dailies you can cap in 3 days.

I'd rather be sotomized by a Baluga Whale than do 200 dailies in 3 days.

And I think you missed the point. I'd have to do 25 dailies per day for the entire week ON TOP of killing the 10 bosses that we have on farm.

I see your point. I guess blizz thought if you were clearing raid bosses then you would be getting gear to offset your need for VP. I do agree though that VP is too much of a grind. Especially after you get exalted with the factions dailies become very hard to want to do.

Pieces left that I need from LFR are becoming very few. I don't need gear from 5-mans and I am exalted with most factions. So everything now is a grind for VP without another benefit.

It was nice however when I leveled another toon that need 5-mans runs and dailies I could VP cap on him and then get a VP bonus on my main.

Yes I hear what you are saying McB. Blizzard is forcing people who have marginal to no upgrades, to take part in a LFR system, only to get Valor at the end. Maybe the ammount of valor should be proportion to your Gear level.

IE
At 460 you get 100 valor per LFR but 20 per raid boss.=120
At 480 you get 45 valor per LFR but 75 valor per raid boss.= 120

This keeps the people that need LFR gear(for the most part) in the LFR system and out of raids(except guild runs). And keeps the well geared "RAIDERS" out of the LFR where they will DE or vendor any drops anyway.

It would also make the LFRs more challenging due to the lack of the overgeared people. It would keep the content closer to the designed Gear Level.

Good idea, Cig.

I don't necessarily need VP, but having it at my disposal is nice (Example: if I only got VP from raiding, it'd take me 3 weeks to upgrade 1 epic item at 10 kills/week). The amount of gear I have the potential to loot on a weekly basis from bosses far outweighs the few rep pieces available for my class...even the best rep pieces are side-grades, at best, to what I have access to in my raid. Farming dailies and Valor to get access to a piece of gear that might be a side-grade in a week or two is pointless.

When I play WoW, my time is game is very valuable to me since I get very little of it in comparison to others in my peer group. Collecting sap for some drunk insectoid just isn't as important to me as killing his Empress...I'd rather spend my few hours a day moving directly towards the next big step, not nickle and diming my way to an item I might use in a week.
