One of the biggest problems with trusting anyone with my data is that, even if they were truly trustworthy and honest, there's absolutely no guaranteed assurance they'll be in control of my data tomorrow. Management changes; corporate policies change; EULAs and privacy promises change - overnight and unilaterally; companies get bought out; companies die and their accounts, equipment, and assets get scattered to the highest bidders; hacking occurs... the list is almost endless. And none of these very real possibilities offer any assurance of protecting my data.
