Creepy..when I downloaded adobe, noscript + ABP were fully armed. I didn't allow JavaScript. Will likely pause before using filehippo in the future.

Was trying to recreate what siljaline drew attention to, so i also disabled ABP and allowed scripts globally on no-script too.
Still sandboxed with Sanboxie though.

I think this kind of problem will only worsen and become more deceptive, as site/product managers become more clever and desperate for clicks, "referrals," and revenue on a "free" Internet. I'm by no means an advocate of pay-per-view websites, but I keep on getting ever stronger feelings that the revenue model used until now to finance website design and operation is showing more and more cracks near its foundations.
