Re: [CATV] [Chicago] New Channels 12/20

So RCN adds 11 new channels and sends letters a few days ago saying my bill will increase $20 a month. That seems rather unfair as I never asked for those channels.

I know it's off topic, but with 75mb internet, static IP, my own SB6120, 1 three year old POS Motorola DVR rental and all the HD movie channels, my monthly bill is $285 after taxes. Now it'll be over $300 a month. I'm curious if I'm severely over paying or if that's considered normal pricing?

When you compare it to FIOS, you're overpaying. My FIOS bill is right under $300/month, but I have 7 HD-DVRs w/ all premiums (including HBO) and 150mbps down/65mbps up internet.

If you take off 6 of the HD-DVRs, reduce the price by $16.95 per DVR, so $101.70 less. Or $85 less than RCN is charging.
