 | Coming back after a break So I am coming back after a bit of a break and was wondering how shadow priests are. I have one at level 60ish and am not really interested in raiding but want to PvP ... should I level him or go mage? I'd have to start a mage over (Horde) but not opposed to that.
Second question .. What currently is the best money making profession? I know doing dailies is the proper method for making money, but for some reason grinding dailies makes me want to poke my eyes out .. yet I don't mind farming mats for professions (weird .. I know).
Thanks for any advice. |

| reply to nusse Warlocks are gods now Finally...
That bit of jesting aside, depending on server mining, herbs, and cloth still seem to be the money makers. I needed saronite ore/bars on my engineer. One my server, a stack sells for 120 to 200 gold. Which, IMO, is way over priced. So I've been doing a bit of mining and fist waving at other players, as we fight over the mine nods.. lol.
The panada land ghost ore seems to sell for about that much as well, though I think I've seen it higher. But that was back during the "rush" phase. Now the early zones in panda land aren't as busy, and I kind of miss the crowd of players for cranking through some of the crowded mob areas. -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? | reply to nusse Both shadow priests and mages are exceptionally good in PvP right now. Hybrid healing is stronger than it's ever been, and SPriest PvP utility is in a great place.
Mage's, specifically frost, received a moderate PvP nerf this week with 5.1, but I highly doubt it will do anything to impact the viability of frost mages to be top PvP contenders. They were completely absurd before, really. |

 | reply to nusse Thanks all for the notes and advice .. I may just have to level a mage some and bounce between that and my 60ish priest and see which I like playing better. I know that the experience pre-90 in PvP won't be the same .. but I can at least get somewhat of a feel for it I guess.
Thanks. |

 | Mages are still OP after 5.1 as last night i could still kill ppl in a deep freeze.
I didn't get a chance to arena on my Shad Priest but the healing nerf wont affect much in 3v3. |

Best money making professions depends so much on your server. On my server, gathering professions are a great go to, easy to grind and sells in the AH in minutes. Leatherworkers capable of crafting Contender's gear sells extremely well on my server as well. So many people are still leveling and gearing their alts that Contender's gear gets bought out quickly. This will eventually slow down some.
Meta gems are selling extremely high on my server, as are any recipe that requires a decent rep grind.
So it all depends on how much you're willing to do. Personally, for straight gold, I go with Herb/Mining. |
