Cell services in countries where consumers are evidently smarter and actually have choice, is indeed reasonably priced. Whereas over here, it's all about maximizing profit - country be damned.
These CEOs and their GOP cohorts couldn't care less if the country is being harmed by archaic speeds or overpriced services. Heck, they exploit and gain off the very system they give lip-service to publicly and pretend to hate - to increase their profits.
For example, vast sections of NYC have 1 maybe 2 choices - yes NYC. Whereas, cities with lower population density overseas have often 5 times the competition and charge much less for the faster services too. Consumer to blame right? WRONG! As they have no choice. | |

Wise up. the Dems are just as involved in being in cahoots with business. Business buys as many Dem pols as they do GOP pols. And do you know why? Pols put themselves up for sale to the highest bidder every election.

The irony coming from someone who 'thinks' that the system utilized by every single developed nation in the world is flawed - Big Gov.
You guys have demonstrated over the past few years that you are more than willing to twist and deny facts. However, the one thing you cannot deny is the letter assigned next to a politician's name regarding a vote.
The overwhelming data illustrates that (R) typically vote against any and every measure that regulates a business and is in favor of the Consumer.
They voted down and strongly opposed the consumer protection agency and spent the last year voting over 70+ times to kill the EPA alone. Their SCOTUS arm voted to now classify a Corporation as being just another breathing American.
The list goes on and on, with entire sites devoted to their voting records. Therefore, for you to sit here and claim that they're the same is a blatant joke. | |

| The broadband landscape in NYC is as consistent as the daily price of oil. As you said, some areas are well served, others are entrenched to the whims of the major players.
Big biz rules the day, and at the end of the day the powers that be know this. People complain about costs going up and value going down, but these same people don't bother to research and dare explore a world of choice and value. And when you have economies of scale built by the same stupidity that compels people to sustain it, it can only mean many are willing and able to do so.
AT&T, Verizon and Sprint make my head spin every time they cook up "innovative pricing" for the same bullshit, yet their subscriber numbers don't lie. They're the big players so they must be the best, and at the end of the day that's what people care about; the brand. And of course, the subsidized product to go along with it.
And well.. Stupidity is good for the economy.. I think those willing to spend big bucks on stupid shit are also reasonably driven to get paid more as well, or spend more of their disposable income on stupid shit. It's win-win if you ask me. | |
