I am impressed that Bell is nicer than Telus about something! Telus has their modems locked down pretty good to prevent bridge mode unless you can find an admin password online or otherwise compromise the device.

I wonder if you really need to do some changes in your modem, simply using PPPoE in your router should do the trick.

In Telus-land we don't use PPPoE. We get a bridged connection, but when they supply a modem/router combo you are stuck behind NAT.
