Re: Really?

LTE phones are set as low cap as possible.

I can literally hit the cap on my iPhone in about 15 seconds of downloading. That's over $1 per second.

I think the concept is the car can be off the cap. Else you're paying $90 a month for data just to listen to Pandora on the way to work.

You either have a ridiculously small cap, or I call BS. The theoretical peak speed with LTE is 300mbits. 15 seconds * 300 mbits is still just over 500megabytes. And you are never going to get anywhere near 300mbits. If you get 5% of that you're doing really good.

Sounds about right. I usually speed test around 20mbps down/up over Verizon "4G".

Let me do some actual math then...

Last speed test was 27mb down. 27 / 8 = 3.375.

300 / 3.375 = 88.88888888888889 seconds.

Changes everything.... right?

Yes it's about Sprint.

Sprint barely has LTE so it will also have to fall back on their miserable 3G network. Else this service will be pretty useless if you can use it in only a fraction of metro areas.

Eventually every carrier will jump on this and pick their brands to be friends with.

This is just a taste of what's to come.

Their footprint is still small. However Network Vision is reported to be on or ahead on their deployment schedule. They are basically deploying an entirely new network. So yes as a Sprint customer I do agree that their 3G is pretty poor. The Network Vision upgrade is supposed to ease that problem as well. That still dosnt change the fact that they are unlimited which was the point I was commenting on.
