| [FireFox] Firefox now available with added MSN Not that I would ever touch this with a ten foot pole quote: The Firefox web browser is now available in an MSN-customised version for users who prefer Microsoft's Bing search engine and want MSN as their home page. The new version comes a year after the Mozilla and Microsoft partnership produced Firefox with BING

| reply to Gone Fishing Thanks for this, I'm the better knowing how to handle such an app if someone were to approach me with a query as how to handle the actual guts of the Browser.
Being an old IE MVP, I'm still getting a handle an all things Moz Thanks to carpetshark3 for feeback and screengrabs.
Appreciated. |

Re: [FireFox] Firefox now available with added MSN Why would anyone want this?
What's so hard about changing those options manually....if you so choose? -- Sarcasm is the bodys natural defense against stupidity. |

 | What's so hard about FX giving us a custom install of just the features we want instead of cramming it all in and making us use about:config? |

RacerbobPremium join:2001-06-24 Webster, NY | Once again, I do not see the issue with this. Seems that if you want the MSN version that you have to download that one and install it ? I do think that there would be some folks who do want this. Yes, it is a dumbed down version, but if Microsoft is helping the Mozilla people out with $$$$ to continue developing Firefox, then I am all for it. |

Nobody is forcing anyone to enable the Facebook feature on Firefox and nobody is forcing anyone to install the MSN stuff. There is a choice to be made here by people who use Firefox. Nothing is being enabled by default and the MSN Firefox cannot be allowed to be installed unless you click on it to do so. Seems that this MSN/Bing deal is like an extension. |
