| Are these types of articles purposefully ignorant? High bandwidth connections like those over 100mbps are not designed for one download to use all of the available bandwidth, but for many concurrent users and devices.
Most households have many internet devices, I'm high on the curve but I live alone and I have 11 internet devices. I don't have anywhere near the bandwidth, 50/25 here, but with one machine running a file transfer I can slow down my netflix to low/SD quality. I have to put download speed limits on certain apps to keep everything moving smoothly. That's what this speed is designed to eliminate plain and simple. |
