I know a customer who's box got stuck in a loop for about 12 hours. Finally, the reboot for whatever it was, went through! But understandably, most people aren't gonna wait that long.
Large updates can require three automatic reboots, each taking about 20 minutes.
What's the box doing now? Boxes can take between 10-45 minutes per update download, so if any customer gets one of the unexpected updates, wait a good 90 minutes. Don't do ANYTHING to the box. If it's gone past 90 minutes or more and the thing is stuck, call customer service.
