 | It's odd because TV guide Network HD is posted on the FIOS website for NY and still nothing.
»www22.verizon.com/home/fiostv/#channels |

 | I see the same thing on the site for my specific area. It shows 694 TV Guide HD, but I do not recieve it yet. Not even test patterns on the channel, or anything.
I did call VZ, and the guy said that he sees that it is in the online channel guide, so we (I) am suppose to get it. But I don't.
He said it'll show up when it shows up on the TV.
However the one thing we agreed upon is: WHY ISN'T the H2 channel in HD YET ! He was a cool dude. |
|
 | reply to FIOS4cable I was told that it would be added today by a CSR, guess they told me wrong, but I feel it will be added around or on Dec 31st 2012. |

 | thank for the update |

If the kept the channels delivered in h.264/mpeg4 as h.264 they could put 4-5 in one QAM space at the typical satellite mpeg4 bitrates, or 10-20 HD in one QAM space at the maximum viable quality for MPEG-2, depending on how much action that channel has reducing mpeg-2 effectiveness. Yes, I am completely serious with that 10-20 number. The MPEG-2 standard used in North America is that bad. |

Yes, I am completely serious with that 10-20 number. The MPEG-2 standard used in North America is that bad. you butchered your own post there is no way you could fit 20 HD channels to a single QAM not enough bandwidth you would need 4 QAMs to carry that many HD channels in MPEG4. I think you meant to Say SD channels. They already can get 16 SD channels on QAM right now there is no point in going MPEG4 for SD 12 max is the preferred limit but you can get in 14 or 15 at one time when my TWC system was 750MHz before it got retrofitted to 860MHz we had a QAM with 14 SD channels at QAM256 and it did not look too bad but then again this was around 2006-2007 when HDTV's weren't as common as they are today and I didn't own one. I know that TWC grooms my local access QAM to fit 15 channels for their Dallas City proper lineup my local access QAM only has 9 channels on it total. I know that 2 of the channels on 15 (129MHz) there are for security cameras in buildings and also 2 channels on that QAM are designated for the EAS channel one for legacy boxes and one for tru2way boxes so they have 4 channels on that QAM that don't take up too much bits so they can get away with a QAM that has 15 channels on it. |

 | reply to matcarl Does anyone have any updates if the rollout stopped , or if VHO7 will get the TV Guide HD channel within the next few days?
It just does not make sense since the TV Guide HD channel shows up for the online guide on verizon websites. It says that the channel should be there. But it is not.
Even the CSR said that the channel should be accessible in VHO7.
Any update would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Might be pushed back till the beginning of the year. I know the communications company I work for does few if any upgrades during this holiday period as to not impact the customer. |
|
 | reply to nascar Maybe VHO7 will get lucky and be given a watchable TV channel instead of TV Guide! |
|
 | reply to bohratom So All-in-all, we all can agree that all VHOs will get this new TV Guide HD channel fairly soon, because a few VHOs already have this particular channel. I am correct in assuming this ? |
|
 | Yes correct, It takes each VHO a different time to add channel's, samething with the IMG upgrades. All VHO'S should have tv guide HD in jan 2013. |
