Sound Quality

Do not know if this has been discussed but the other night I was watching channel 21 via the Samsung HD cable box, and the sound was muddy.

I then switched the TV to its built in tuner and still thru the cable connection (not over the air) watched the rest of the program.

The sound was much crisper and better quality.

The sound setting on the TV was the same for both the internal tuner and the cable box.

What do they do to screw up the sound so badly and is this universal on all channels?

Stu

How is the sound going from your Samsung to the TV?
Is the sound output on the Samsung set to fixed or variable?

OK. And what do you use to control the volume that come out of your TV or home theater? The cable box or the other device (TV/home theater)?

The TV volume control for both. I do not have any other device.

The problem is the same if it is fixed or variable, and on the other broadcast channels also.

I will be away for a bit and not answer this post for at least a week.

Thanks
Stu
