kudos:5 | [Tablet] Nexus 7 -- restore to pre-Jelly Bean O/S? I am tired of this buggy Jelly Bean O/S. Will the factory data reset only remove the data, or will it revert back to original O/S?
Another new O/S update -- this time the WiFi will not stay connected.

kudos:3 | Factory reset just wipes /data and /data/data. Basically, it's a clean install of whatever the current ROM is.
You could always unlock the bootloader (this WILL wipe everything, including the SDcard - at least it did on the Galaxy Nexus) and then you can flash clockworkmod or twrp and flash whatever image you want (the factory release image should be downloadable somewhere).

You sure you don't have some HW problem with the Nexus 7. I'm on my 3rd version from Google and it has not has any problems. Mine is rooted but running JB 4.2.1 |

I removed the "AT&T Smart WiFi" app -- that fixed the wireless issue.

marti, the Nexus 7 never came with anything other than Jellybean as the OS.
There have been 2 upgrades to Jellybean: 4.1 and 4.2.1.
I have had no problem with either update, but some have, and the betting money is that is caused by certain apps that either need updating or just don't work well with the latest JB update.
