Re: 12 Dells: Days of (supposed) Deals - Dec 3 2012 You can't get a good computer for $700. You can get a decent one, but a GTX 670 and an i7-3770 are already $700 right there, before even the SSD, HDD, RAM, mobo, case, PSU, ODD, keyboard, mouse, LCD, Windows...
I would say there is little need for most people to spend more than $1800 after tax/shipping without monitor or OS. Because that gets you something pretty close to top of the line today with pretty much everything you could want. But $700? Wolfie00My dog is an elitistPremium join:2005-03-12 kudos:5 1 edit | reply to Devanchya Nice laptop today -- Inspiron 15R for $499.99 (the "R" models are the newer chipset and nicer cases).
Also the Canon T2i for (oddly enough) that exact same price, quite a good discount.
The T2i description includes a truly bizarre statement: "Includes E-mount 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens (SEL1855)". Makes absolutely no sense at all. The T2i, like most Canon SLR's, has Canon's standard EF mount. E-mount is Sony. And "SEL 1855" is the model number of a Sony 18-55 lens! This has to be some sort of really strange mistake.
(What makes it even more frustrating is that the image-stabilized Canon lens that is SUPPOSED to come with the T2i has actually got very good reviews!) -- "The promoters of the global economy see nothing odd or difficult about unlimited economic growth or unlimited consumption in a limited world." ― Wendell Berry |

$70 for the Logitech K800 keyboard is also a decent deal if you are into that model. I already have one and love it, might buy another one for work and try to figure who on my gift list might want one. |

Hey if he says the system is better than his, and he's a serious gamer, then anything more than 700 is just the same as buying Apple to make your small pecker look larger.
But go ahead, drop 2 grand on your computer if you must. I mean, the fact it will be worth 1 grand in 6 months is no reason to hold back right? because you deserve the best, even if you also deserve to be laughed at. |
