MichailPremium join:2000-08-02 Boynton Beach, FL kudos:1 | Windows Phone 8 - WP8 I've been on a Windows Phone 8 phone, Lumia 920, now for one week and I really love the phone and WP8. It grows on me more every day.
I was afraid to give MS a chance on this, especially after Windows 8, but now I'm happy I did. I just hope they can compete and the app market thrives.
We don't seem to have much of a WP7/WP8 presence on here though like iOS in the apple forum or the dedicated droid forum. |

| I'm a relatively early WP7 adopter. I have an iThing (well, the wife carries it mostly) and a driodThing (Galaxy Tab 10.1). There are a couple of things on each I wish was on the WP7, but a lot more things on the WP7 that aren't on the others. While I'm going to get a WP8 at some point, I"m only 2 years into my 3-year contract so the upgrade price is still too high (here in Canada, the cell phone companies keep you bent over a table). I figure later next spring, which should allow any glitches to be ironed out. Still waffling on the 920 or HTC 8X. The latter supposedly "feels" better, but Nokia's apps are to be reckoned with. I figure by the time the price point crosses my cheapskate threshold, there will be enough objective reviews to help decide. It'd be cool to have a WPx forum, but I'd imagine it'd be pretty quiet.

They seem to be positioning themselves as a WP app/services provider. Their WP apps are top notch. To top it off you can even delete the AT&T apps off the phone.
I just discovered the default music player, Nokia Music, has all these Pandora like streaming features, but better than Pandora, at no cost. I'm keeping an eye on Nokia Drive+ also. It's not bad for beta stage.
Many of the reviewers out there complain about the apps. But it seems there is less need for many of the apps given the way the whole OS is put together. Even then I found just about everything from iOS that I was using.
I've experienced a few kinks but for an OS and phone that just hit the market a few weeks ago it sure is good.
IMHO, WP8 deserves a good share of the market. Hopefully people will give it a chance. I wouldn't mind taking a crack at being an app developer for the platform. |

I wouldn't mind seeing more WP stuff on here though. It would be a nice change from all the outlook issues and metro complaints. |

Glad you're liking WP8 - I got my 920 on launch day (blue one from AT&T) and other than a slightly non-deterministic batter life, it's been fantastic. Had an HTC Titan running 7.5 before that, which was also great except you couldn't be heard on it in a call without a headset. Yeah. -- My place : »www.schettino.us |

I have noticed I do use this phone more than the iPhone. Mostly because it's so fast and the screen is larger. More use could have something to do with battery usage. |
