[Wireless] wrt160n settings

Need a little more info. Are trying to connect wirelessly? Are you just using the factory defaults on the wrt? Mac or PC? Operating system?

If you're using the defaults then no security is enabled. Am I understanding this correctly? You have not set up the device?

i trying to set up the device but getting above notr

You may need to hook it up to your pc via ethernet. You don't need to be hooked up to the internet/your modem to set it up.

i follow the instrucions on the setup /disc/ went ok till above/ i thought i set security settings to high / should have put on wep?

I don't think so. You should really set it up via hardwire.

new info now i can get on internet /and to setup page / my security say unsecured/ when i go to 192.168.1,1 setup page under wireless setting and tryto change from disabled to wep / loss connection/ also tried wpa / any info help please

You will lose connection. Just search for wireless networks again and enter the security code.

when i try to go from unsecured network settings to wep i loss connection/ and when on unsecured cant bring up setup page 192.168.1.1

You need to set it up hard wired.

please explain / hard wired /how?

You need to physically connect your PC to your router using an ethernet cable.
