anon posted : Afternoon folks, I will be switching over to Teksavvy cable internet 28mb speed line in a couple weeks once my contract is over with Bell. I will need a cable modem and I found a guy selling the Motorola SB6120 with firmware 1.0.6.1 on kijiji for $50. Should I buy it as it is one of the supported modems on Teksavvy's website? I called Teksavvy and they said it will work fine. But my main concern is, what if Motorola decide to update the firmware, will Teksavvy push the new firmware to my SB6120 even though it is discontinued?

I have searched the forums but I cannot find the answer to my concern. I just don't want to spend $50 on it now, use for few months then find motorola upgrade their firmware and I cannot use my modem anymore because my modem is discontinued.
