DaMan666Does Charlie Daniels play a mean fiddle?Premium join:2004-09-17 Minneapolis, MN | Installing Card Reader I bought a card reader and I want to install it but i'm not sure about the power connector. I am putting up two pictures. 1st question is in the one picture, is that a power connector or jumper pins, it looks like it says USB. Second question is: If that is the right connector, do I plug into the 5 pin or the 4 pin as the plug has 4 wires and one empty port and does it matter whitch way it plugs in. Any help would be great. Oh. And yeah, its a bit dusty. -- Dean: "There's light at the end of the tunnel" Sam: "It's hell fire dean" |

(a normal 2 port USB connector would have a pin missing from the bottom row, ensuring you line it up right) In your picture, pin 1 is on the left. You want the black wire of the connector on pin 4, with the red on pin 1. |

That connector block is horribly dirty; don't risk using it when it's that dirty. -- Making life hard for others since 1977. I speak for myself and not my employer/affiliates of my employer. |
