trouble with Wii access

Hi

I have the ExploreNet Surfbeam 2 Satellite/modem, the EnGenius ESR6650 router - they work fine for wireless access to my PC and Mac. I also have a Wii through which I want to get Netflix - but when entering the SSID for wireless connections in the Wii set-up, I get an SSL connection error message. I have used the same SSID/router key as issued for the router.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Try temporarily disabling security in your router.
Ensure your router is set to 'Enable SSID Broadcast'.
Security Disabled - not using WEP or WPA since I am out in the country with no nearby homes.
Maybe the Wii does not accommmodate WEP or WPA.
I use a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Router. It works OK with my Wii and Neflix runs almost all the time OK. Good luck!

The Wii only supports up to 'WPA2 personal'. Setting a router at 'WPA2 enterprise' will result in no connection being able.

extra: If you still have the WPS enabled, it is a major security hole and easily hackable.

If your SSID is set to invisible, you may have to enable it temporarily for the Wii to see the router for initial connection.
