I do too (on both machines), but I don't even know if it's actually done anything for me. I don't recall ever seeing a popup that something was caught. Maybe I don't visit sites that are a threat.
Go to »www.eicar.org and try to download the antivirus test file. It's not a real virus, just a code that is supposed to be recognized by a working antivirus.
