So it looks like that the STIGs do not have encryption policies for Desktop PCs. Only for removable devices such as USBs, flash drives, and mobile phones. |

What you are looking for is the DoD policy for Data at Rest (DAR) encryption.
The STIG is at:

Look for "Removable Storage STIG - Version 1 Release 2" under "Removable Storage". |

| Does the DoD use PC encryption or only on external USB drives?
I cannot seem to find any documentation from the DISA STIGs on this.
