muze join:2012-11-28 Jenner, CA | [Exede] Alignment or not? Sometimes i work with an airport wireless router: so this being the first time i did with the excede sat i am not sure what the problem was last night. I left the computer asleep with the modem plugged into the airport for the evening. When i returned around 11pm the modem had gone into scanning mode, single light with the second blinking. Power cycling, changing outlets, restarting computer etc. didn't help. Though in each power cycle the modem started with all 4 lights and flashed in the status panel complete but couldn't get past the scanning cycle.
The sky was overcast but not raining, it's been way worse including Saturday when the the installer came and my signal is locked on open sky range. I've used the inet later at that hour just fine under worse conditions. So i'm inclined to believe it was some kind of mode triggered by the airport and not an alignment failure, but i could be wrong.
If it doesn't figure to be an airport issue i will pay closer attention to the signal tonight so let me know where the trouble numbers start. Thanks. Zak |

 | Sometimes there is maintenance or technical problems at the gateway or satellite which causes the modem to lose lock on the gateway. Sometimes power cycling the modem is needed. Mostly you have to wait for the modem to reacquire the signal. Maintenance usually occurs around midnight Mountain Standard Time. |

muze join:2012-11-28 Jenner, CA | It must have been maintenance because i've used the airport at the same time/weather without a problem and i power cycled the modem and restarted the computer.
It would be nice if there was a further diagnostic panel that would allow you to see that. Or is there a notice posted somewhere when maintenance will occur? |
