Re: Two Accounts, one unlimited, one not, how is traffic charged

Ok, thanks.

I thought (hoped) it was by username.

AFAIK my unlimited ISP doesn't restrict multiple logins. Why would they? My limited ISP is probably happy I'm doing nothing.

I guess I'll know at month end when the bill comes due. I'm torrenting a lot.

What's the ISP, would be nice to have a login I can use at two spots!

Thanks!

"b1 login" is only for Bell customers. Wholesale DSL customers have the choice to actually set their username & password when they sign up with their provider.

Does Bell FTTH work this way too?

I'd like to know the answer to this question, too. In case one upgrades from FTTN (VDSL2) to FTTH.

Yes, with FTTH you still have a regular modem connected to the ONT and it still connects with a username like normal. Traffic is still counted by that connection.

If I recall correctly I remember seeing somewhere that the usernames are in a different format rather than their standard b1 ones (b2 I think?) that don't work on regular DSL, so using a 3rd party unlimited login probably wouldn't work on your FTTH connection either.

Correct. wholesale logins DO NOT work with the FTTH service
