[Extension] DoNotTrackMe 2.2.5.1205 (DoNotTrackPlus)

DNTMe is a tool that that prevents online tracking, so naturally, we don't collect any data about our users.

New version:
DoNotTrackMe (DNTMe) is the new and improved DoNotTrackPlus. It’s the same free privacy software that prevents online tracking and improves your security on the Internet, with more powerful blocking and an improved UI. DNTMe blocks hundreds of online trackers on millions of sites.

New version:

DoNotTrackMe expands upon where DoNotTrackPlus started by offering more powerful blocking and an improved UI

• New name: DoNotTrackMe (formerly DoNotTrackPlus)
• Added over 50 new trackers to DNTMe's block list
• Refreshed UI with a chart that shows you how many trackers you’ve blocked while using DNTMe
• Privacy alert feature which appears on the DNTMe icon when we have news or tips about the site you’re visiting. For example, if Facebook changes their privacy policy, you’ll get an alert the next time you visit Facebook
• Now available worldwide in 10 languages

Questions about the software:

1) It really doesn't stop tracking or block trackers, does it?

2) Doesn't it just notify sites that we don't want to be track, leaving it up the trackers themselves to decide whether or not to do so?

The above link that siljaline See Profile posted states:

Blocking tracking requests is the primary method that DNTMe uses to stop data collection because it’s the strongest one. DNTMe can tell when a website tracker is trying to collect your information, and it then completely blocks those tracking requests from ever being made.
quote:
When DNTM blocks trackers, they can’t collect your personal information. And because they can’t collect your information, they aren’t able to make big data requests that can slow down your browser. The end result of blocking tracking is more privacy and faster browsing. Millions of users worldwide, including our Internet security partners who are powered by our blocking technology, depend on DNT+ to deliver effective privacy controls, and blocking is the most effective tactic.

Hey, it's great to know that they actually block tracking rather than simply requesting that we not be tracked.
