| usps tracking issue? Is anyone else having a usps.com tracking # issue?
I was able to track a package yesterday but now i am getting "Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office. " -- »www.RestartYourComputer.net |

| reply to SuperNet9 Yep, USPS tracking leaves a lot to be desired.
One thing is for sure and that is if you check after your package has been delivered, you can check your tracking and it will show as "delivered". -- Printed on 100% recycled bytes |

You buy it, you will get delivery confirmation when it gets there quick.
But at the same time I have been amazed how fast priority particularly regional packages have been delivered... often within or just over 24 hours. And they even across country have met or beat the deadline. (3-4 instead of 5 days)
Though little interim info. --

| reply to SuperNet9 A lot of people confuse "tracking" with "delivery confirmation".
As the names imply, all delivery confirmation does is tell you that the item arrived. It does not give details in between.
I've noticed that with tracking, the information can come in fits and starts. For example, I ordered something from Amazon and it indicated that the item shipped. Then there were no updates for a few days until it showed that it arrived at my local post office and would be delivered the next day.
I'm guessing that since USPS uses outside vendors to move mail long distances, they can only track stuff when it's in the USPS system. So for example if they hand off a box to FedEx (which they do a lot), the post office has no idea what the status of that box is until FedEx gives it back to them at the other end.
Weird tracking data aside, the post office does do a good job of getting things to their destination, at least around here anyway. |

Be patient. Relax. You'll live longer. |

waldoooo join:2001-12-15 Fountain Valley, CA | reply to SuperNet9 I have had the same thing twice when it was something I had purchased from eBay, it appears the shippers used either the eBay or paypal programs to print their shipping also..... showed items were shipped then the following day on both occasions I got the same message. Nothing until the items arrived(delivered about noon) and I checked that evening, then the all the steps along the way and delivery were visible. |
