MBAM false positive on MSI Afterburner?

Has anyone ever seen this recently/today? I recently installed Win7 64 Pro from scratch as it had been about 18 months since my last install and drivers were breaking that could not be fixed by a driver reinstall. A fresh install fixed the errors I was seeing.

I went through a laundry list of reinstalls, including Afterburner. As I am fairly confident of my user opsec, and really do nothing on the computer but gaming and browsing DSLR, I am skeptical of being infected. Running premium MBAM + MSE (maybe that needs to change due to the latest curfluffle over MSE's 0-day detection) + free SAS.

If you were trying to uninstall the software, then I'd guess it was a PUPS detection.

If you were not doing anything with MSI afterburner at all, an "uninstall.exe" (software uninstaller) detection would be a false.

Yeah, I had just booted up the machine and hadn't done anything, so it probably would be false.

Just add it to the ignore list.

If you want you can submit it to VirusTotal for peace of mind to give the all clear.

Now MBAM is freaking out over the FRAPS uninstall exe. I bet something went wrong with an MBAM update...

I saw something similar Tuesday: »[F@H] Trojan warning from MBAM re: F@H

I quarantined it while investigating. MBAM won't restore it but so far seems unneeded.

Has anyone reported this to the team at MBAM via the forum?

I have not, but would gladly. Do you have a POC?

Are are quite a few reputable people (moderators) looking after the forums that will help.

How did you go?

I downloaded and installed the software and could not reproduce the detection.

Yeah, I tried the scan again and it would not reproduce on either.
