Swapped out video cards on one of my machines but the driver would not install. Put old card back in, same issue. Here is the error I get. Tried everything I know including a re-image. No help.

Where are the drivers loading or the driver package running from? Should be the local HDD.

Have you tried downloading / running a different driver package?

Tried several different driver packages. Some on the HDD some on a thumb drive. All end with the same error.

It took three tries with a re-image but I finally got it working with the original card. I still have no idea what happened but something got borked just by swapping out the cards. Whatever it was atiman uninstaller, driver sweeper, ccleaner and driver fusion couldn't fix it. Maybe I'll torture myself some more and try to swap them again.

Maybe try doing a hardware uninstall of the old card before powering off and installing the new one ?

thats an error caused by the "source" of the compressed MSI package that was unzipped to a temporary folder not being found.
probably because of a disk error or an invalid created temporary folder name for the extracted "source" contents of the MSI file.

Any idea what would cause that? All I did was try to swap out a video card and this machine has an SSD. Every other time I did that Win7 loaded the driver I had installed on the previous card without any intervention on my part.
