I am not at work today

I worked overnight Thursday at 2 AM for an upgrade so I worked from home yesterday (wooohoooo no pants!) and I am on a vacation day today.

I just wanted to mention this.

It has been quite busy and people have been a little stressed at work recently as we have been on a big push to solve some production problems. I have been on call for slightly longer than two weeks as well.

It is nice today.

Please, continue with the petty bickering.

I'm gonna be shacked up in a hotel in Kingston for a week. But today I am not at work either!

Did I ever stop.

Friday before Christmas must be quite the charm getting around the GTA and all the shoppers. You picked a good day.

I have been home for three days with the intestinal flu. I thought I was dying. I lived. Carry on.

I'm not at work today either. I put up the outside Christmas lights, did errands, had lunch, visited with some people I haven't seen in a month. Sheesh, almost as busy as if I'd been at work.

My father-in-law had the same flu yet he continued to try and drag himself to work despite us yelling at him to get his ass to bed.

Now we're in Ottawa, waiting for a baby to be born, instead of at work.

I have no gone anywhere, yet I had planned to. I did some Christmas shopping, online.

I vacuumed. I washed the kitchen and bathroom floors.

I watched 30 minutes of Bing Bang Theory bloopers on Youtube.

Well, in my little corner of the galaxy, I just came off a 12 hour shift last night (6pm-630am...) to go to another one for tonight, yay!....

Unfortunately I must wear pants and a suit to my work....I'd kill to just run around in shorts and a t-shirt just once...even in December!

So go back to enjoying your weekends off while suckers like me work.

...Is that enough bickering?

I have worked the past three Saturday nights. Starting at 6 PM until 1 or 2:30 last week, then up again at 5:30 Sunday morning to finish (the DBA was working in the meantime).

Yes, fix our networks! lol...or fix our servers!

Umm...I'd trade you whatever your schedule was for mine in a heartbeat for the next 3 weeks coming up ....but I've been there....nothing beats working a Canada Day from 7am to 8pm with no break....because some electrician was stupid....

I love to hear from employees like you, and have it so easy compared to small business owners like myself who often work 7 days a week.

Your life would be like going on a vacation for some of us.

I just finished work for the day (7:15 pm), and I was supposed to be done at 5 pm.

Time for a beer or 6.

Knocked off at 13:00 today, ran some errands... Cooking breakfast for 90 next weekend, so ordered a bunch of meat and stuff.

I'm done working Fridays for the year, too!

Probably Norovirus, which is making the rounds in our area. And I probably picked it up here. The timing is right. I was there on Monday. And on one of the infected units.

I haven't used a vacation day yet this year. Two weeks off for the holidays is going to go down pretty smooth, and I'll still have an extra two weeks carrying over to next year.

I'd like to think I'll take it easier next year and get some of my personal affairs in better order but it's looking like work will be just as intense, both the fun and the pressure.

Just deferred my last week of 2012 vacation to 1Q 2013. Busy is good. Looking forward to ice fishing season.

I am off next Friday too. I am also off the Friday after. I will be working the 28th, but taking the 24th off.

I will still have 10 vacation days to use. I can carry them over and even take 5 on cashout

It is nice having 4 weeks per year.

Is this the same job you were complaining about not so long ago? Sounds like you like it now.
