You get more with a kind word and a gun than you get with just a kind word.

But I agree, you get sweet bugger all with a nasty tone and rotten attitude.

I try to be nice to all I encounter, but the second I get nasty from someone, they get nothing nice back that's for sure.

In your position, I might have just acted like I was unable to understand the person.
