Subaru posted : ha the hardest part was doing the template of the old metal plate it was so brittle I had to make square cut outs so the plastic cover that snaps in would fit.. well it took about 4 times making a strip because it kept breaking because it's narrow and thin.

IllIlIlllIll posted : Subaru,
if you plan on using light fine sand paper to remove any of the rust where the elements and wires are connected, when you re-assemble the antenna, i would look into using silicone to "plug-up" every nook and cranny hole on the outside cover of the antenna before you put it back outside.
you might also want to use some "primer" spray paint and spray the metal contact areas of the elements after you reassemble them to prevent any moisture buildup from rusting them again.
--
Suffolk County NY Police Feed - »www.scpdny.com
PS3 Gaming Feed - »www.livestream.com/elitedata

Subaru posted : Hah so I have a old silver sensor OTA antenna and if anyone knows it's a indoor antenna but I've been using it outside for the past 3 years.. well early this year I lost WCBS and WNBC which transmits from the ESB about 2 months ago.. however other stations that use my UHF antenna I can still get fine.. so after moving the antenna around a lot (WCBS came in with a good signal) I got nothing.. so I opened it up inside and I figure this has something to do with it...

the brown line is some thin metal that pretty much broke in spot with me pulling up the plastic cover, I think I can repair it with a bunch of aluminum flashing I have left over, Just temporary until I can get a higher gain antenna.

Also the antenna elements that connect on that long strip of metal also rusted between it and the strip of metal.

Having said that the larger longer elements I suspect are why I can't get those two stations?

--
It's NOT Ni-kon It's NE-KON!

LG is NOT Lifes Good It's Lucky Goldstar!
