Cable modem + router question

Hello I'll be switching to cable soon! Waiting for my modem. However I still have my hybrid DSL modem/router.

My question may sound obvious and/or simple but I want to be sure before buying a router or when the sale ends.

The question is, will a cable modem be able to hook up to my hybrid modem/router and work as a router? Thus I won't need to buy a router?

Thanks. On a side note I plan on having this »www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=73594&promoid=1479

I'm doubting the DSL combo unit will work with your cable modem. That Linksys model is a really good router and you should flash it with DD-WRT firmware. By the way, that refurb is always just shy of $70 with NCIX.

I have a version of the Netgear DGN2200 ( »www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/···tId=2668 ) and it works fine when hooked up to another router but I couldn't tell you if it works being hooked up directly up to the modem.
