Re: [Extreme Plus] Ultimate Package

I'm on bloor phub

Had an issue last night where the first Hitron modem they gave me couldn't connect to network but after I went back to switch for another, worked just fine

Disabled all the gateway related stuff and now in bridge mode

Seeing this is fun lol

Are the 75/2 customers going to get upgraded to 150/10? Has anyone successfully upgraded to the new ultimate without paying extra?

For now, at least, you have to call and request it, and it costs extra. I don't see them upgrading for free, ever.

I have been looking for an answer to this as well. There are several posts on this forum and on other forums where people claim to have gotten the upgrade to 150/10 without paying extra. Some of them seem to have gotten the upgrade without asking while others had to ask for it. Many other people have been told they will have to switch to the new Ultimate package for $122.99 if they want the faster speeds.

150/10 still isn't available in my area so I am stuck with the old Ultimate at 75/2.

I don't recall anyone here claiming they've received 150/10 without paying extra. Some people think they've received 150/10, but what they're really getting is the extra speedboost they've implemented for Ultimate users. If you want 150/10, you'll need to cough up the extra $22.99 a month once it's available in your area.

What about those claiming they got the free upgrade to 10mbps upload?

10mbps upstream is available at no additional charge if you live in an eligible neighbourhood. You still need to call in and request it and the download speed remains at 75mbps.

You may not be able to get provisioned on that profile until official network wide launch of 150/10 which should happen by March for Q1. Otherwise it is only select areas right now.

They have told me Southwestern Ontario has 150/10 now, it is recent in last week or so.

The issue is be able to provision WHUI which is 750/10, I do not want to 150/10 for the extra money, 75/10 is supposed to give me faster upload

2 hour call, they upgraded speeds to 150/10, however, could not find code for 75/10.

Rogers agent on 2nd call committed to 75/10, said he found the code..they have to follow through...will they or make their co look like idiots...

No they won't. They never resolve anything once you're off the phone.

I know, when I get the bill, I will call and complain, not sure if I complain to executive office, ombudsman or CCTS, I have them dead to rights, agent documented that he offered 75/10 at same price, agent confirmed what he could do, maybe they will give me the 150/10 at same price as 75/10, either way, they have to pay somehow for their companies call centers incompetence !!!!

I was told by several people (some online, some in store) that they couldn't find the code for 75/10 either (nor could they for 45/7). Either there's a big warning in the system saying "let new customers have this and we'll fire you", or it really doesn't exist in some areas.

My guess is it'll never become available. It was probably a test tier that preceded the new 150/10. Since our areas weren't capable of /10 until after 150/10 was available, there's no need to give us access to something that was only meant to be a test when the real thing is now available.

Hopefully the people that got 75/10 will be grandfathered and won't be forced to upgrade at some point...

THe 75/10 code is a "higher upstream" tier and it will not populate on accounts where the service address has not been marked as "higher upstream available". If it does populate for an address that hasn't been tagged, the rep will get an error if he/she tries to add it to a customers account.

That's what I mean. I don't think they're tagging accounts with "higher upstream available" anymore. I have 150/10 so it's pretty obvious that I have higher upstream available, but since they haven't added that "higher upstream available" flag I can't get 75/10. So I think "higher upstream available" was probably only added during the testing period before 150 was available. Now they don't need to say "higher upstream available", they can just say "150/10 available".

Could be totally wrong, and I'd be happy to find I can get 75/10 in the future, but I'm not holding my breath.

Ree you are correct. If your account isn't flagged, then you will not be able to get just higher upstream. But 150/10 is most likely available now.

You can be eligible for 150/10 but not be tagged for higher upstream because your node may not have the capacity to support every customer with higher upload speeds. Rogers knows that very few customers are going to sign up for 150/10 so they can get away with tagging your address as 150/10 eligible but not higher upstream eligible.

right now i have 75/10, i don't see the point of 150/10

instead of downloading a bd50 in 90mins, i can download it in 45mins?

the upload bump was the most important for me

So does the 519 area code support 150/10 now?
