That's what I mean. I don't think they're tagging accounts with "higher upstream available" anymore. I have 150/10 so it's pretty obvious that I have higher upstream available, but since they haven't added that "higher upstream available" flag I can't get 75/10. So I think "higher upstream available" was probably only added during the testing period before 150 was available. Now they don't need to say "higher upstream available", they can just say "150/10 available".

Could be totally wrong, and I'd be happy to find I can get 75/10 in the future, but I'm not holding my breath.

You can be eligible for 150/10 but not be tagged for higher upstream because your node may not have the capacity to support every customer with higher upload speeds. Rogers knows that very few customers are going to sign up for 150/10 so they can get away with tagging your address as 150/10 eligible but not higher upstream eligible.

Ree posted : I was told by several people (some online, some in store) that they couldn't find the code for 75/10 either (nor could they for 45/7). Either there's a big warning in the system saying "let new customers have this and we'll fire you", or it really doesn't exist in some areas.

My guess is it'll never become available. It was probably a test tier that preceded the new 150/10. Since our areas weren't capable of /10 until after 150/10 was available, there's no need to give us access to something that was only meant to be a test when the real thing is now available.

Hopefully the people that got 75/10 will be grandfathered and won't be forced to upgrade at some point...

10mbps upstream is available at no additional charge if you live in an eligible neighbourhood. You still need to call in and request it and the download speed remains at 75mbps.

I have been looking for an answer to this as well. There are several posts on this forum and on other forums where people claim to have gotten the upgrade to 150/10 without paying extra. Some of them seem to have gotten the upgrade without asking while others had to ask for it. Many other people have been told they will have to switch to the new Ultimate package for $122.99 if they want the faster speeds.

150/10 still isn't available in my area so I am stuck with the old Ultimate at 75/2.

I don't recall anyone here claiming they've received 150/10 without paying extra. Some people think they've received 150/10, but what they're really getting is the extra speedboost they've implemented for Ultimate users. If you want 150/10, you'll need to cough up the extra $22.99 a month once it's available in your area.

Yes and no.

Yes, when downloading something large with multiple connections (ie an episode of TV I missed from a usenet provider with 20 connections), it's slower (Ultimate would download at 9+MB/s, Express at "only" 5+MB/s).

But not noticeably in any other way. Web surfing is still the same, 45mbit is still much more than necessary for streaming video so it's also the same, etc.

And most importantly, it's MUCH faster when I connect to my Home PC from Work. There was about a week of "bumpiness" where I found it necessary to change the RDP ports every day (was REALLY slow otherwise for some reason), but this has stopped and I think may have been related to the throttle being disabled in my area (since the problem disappeared the same time that the throttling ended).

You are wasting your time with CET. They are just another team of CSRs with no real powers and have permission from Rogers to call themselves managers when they are not. They don't know anything that frontline CSRs don't know.

I called Rogers customer non-service, they could not tell me when the 150/10 would be available in my area.

The rep also told me he could not tell me when the 10 mbps upload would be available, he did tell me the 45/4 was available, could not explain why the more expensive plan has slower upload 2mbps on 75/2 vs 45/4.

I am waiting for Customer Escalation Team, I fee sorry for front line agents, the Rogers teams that actually package and market the services do not provide them info needed to do their jobs

The 75/2 package WAS increased to 75/10 for over a year, in areas that had hardware upgrades (ie Toronto). The higher upload isn't available in your area (and there's no way you'll get higher upload) until Rogers rolls out and does hardware upgrades to support it. Only after they do it, will higher upload speeds be possible.

The upgrade from 75/2 to 150/10 is NOT free, nor is it automatic. 75/2 costs $99, while 150/10 costs $123. You have to call to request it.

If the speed is available in your area due to Rogers getting around to doing the required hardware upgrades for it, they will automatically upgrade your speeds. Since you're on that older version of the same package, Rogers hasn't gotten to upgrading your area just yet. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until they get to you.

It will be a FREE upgrade as well.
