| Can't get wireless to work on Actiontec GT701-WG DSL modem When I first plugged it in, this modem wouldn't do anything. I was able to revive it by running the recovery software supplied by Century Link (used to be Qwest). Then I went into the modem through a web browser to get at all the control setting screens. On the wireless screen, I saw that wireless was turned off, so I turned it on and clicked "APPLY." Instead of coming back in a few seconds, the screen hung and never came back. The wireless light on the modem turned on, though.
When I unplugged the modem from the power and plugged it back in, the wireless light was off again.
I tried upgrading the firmware to the latest one, and this didn't make a difference. Neither did running the recover software again.
I haven't tried using the modem to get onto the Internet.
I've never seen this problem before. |
