 | Does TIVO recording add to my monthly bandwidth cap? now that suddenlink has bandwidth monthly usages, does TIVO recording "suggestions" willy nilly, add to my internet monthly bandwidth usage or is it separate? |
|
 | Officially, we haven't heard word from SL that the caps are back in place, and the few people who have claimed that SL has billed them recently have yet to produce ANY proof of that being the case.
That aside, I don't believe that SL takes into account WHAT the data is it's sending you across your modem. So if the TIVO has to connect to your internet to get these suggestions, I would venture a guess of yes, it'll go against your usage cap. -- 30/2 Suddenlink : Current 5/1 CMA : Old 15/2 TWC : Old |

 | If in doubt, you can turn off the recording of suggestions in the TiVo settings. I don't believe they come over the internet link, but you could test and see on their usage graph. -- Suddenlink |

| reply to vizionblind This is something i've wondered myself since getting the SL tivo. While stuff that is recorded with the suggestions will not use bandwidth as its just recording video, they do have VOD on the tivo's which use the internet to stream since they can't get it through the mcard like they do on regular STB's. I'd really like to hear a Suddenlink tech chime in on this. |

 | Wait, SL vod has to stream on the net? |
