| [CA] channel bonding update in OC It's been a few days since I last checked, but at some point during that time we started bonding 8 downstream and 2 upstream channels. This seems to have come with a speed increase on the upstream side:
This is Preferred (advertised as 18/2).

Still 3-1 here in Nellie Gail, Laguna Hills (across Cabot from Best Buy). Seems it is only parts of Lake Forest and Irvine so far. |

Lake Forest, CA | I've never used Moto, so I can't really compare. It's really going to depend on how congested your node is. Right now, your speed test results are pretty good, considering your plan. If you notice slowdowns in the evening or weekends, an 8x4 modem (DPC3010) may help as you'll have more channels to use. If speeds are fine overall, you probably won't see any improvement with a new modem. |

Get the Cisco DPC3010 from Amazon for $40 used. It works like a charm on Cox. |

Went from 2 channels Down 1 Up, to 3 Down 1 Up then this last week to 4 Down and 2 Up

Using a Motorola 6121 (got it on Amazon for 71 bucks)
On Premier NOW was on Preferred (switched as I needed a more headroom for the Cox Cap - we use a lot of Netflix and Hulu in HD). On Preferred before the change got 22Mb Down and 6Mb up with 3 Channel Down and 1 Up
If it makes any difference I do NOT use Cox for Cable/TV or Phone just for Data (using DirecTV for TV) - getting 20-30% better speeds than neighbor who is using Cox for TV. |

Hi almost neighbor. I'm near Trabuco and El Toro.
Sounds like so far, from the responses here and people I've talked to at work, that the area that's getting this right now is still pretty small.
