 | [Cable] slow speeds -- no resolution max download speed on microsoft.com, downloading service packs 1mbyte/sec max download speed on apple.com, downloading trailers 1mbyte/sec max download speed on bittorent, downloading linux distros, 1mbyte/sec
doing all three at the same time, 1.1-1.2mbyte/sec. about 10mbits.
paying for 18mbits. i'm on a 18mbit profile as teksavvy confirmed with rogers.
and tek say there is nothing wrong with my line as i am getting good ping results when i ping teksavvy, google etc. that's it.
good pings+good profile=no problem and my speed is limited to 10mbps at all times...throughout the day.. on my desktop, on my iphone, and on my laptop...
frustrating. ... |

 | Perhaps try something with Parallel Downloads? Also maybe post your line stats? |

You have a classic congested Rogers cable node
5 years ago I use to slow down to 1mbps on a 7mbps profile everynight during peak hours.
Resyncing, rebooting, upgrading coax cable, power boosters.... NOTHING fixes the problem.
This is the only reason why I refuse to go back to cable.
Rogers infrastructure is 100% to blame. Don't expect Rogers to ever do anything about it, or upgrade their capacity, despite having some of the most expensive plans in Canada. |
