New iTunes lets computer sleep while using Apple TV
Basically as the title says.
I frequently use my Apple TV to watch movies and TV shows in my iTunes library. Lately my late 2011 MacBook Pro began going to sleep while watching movies or TV shows on my Apple TV, thus causing the Apple TV to stop playing because it loses access to my iTunes library. Up until very recently my MacBook ignored the power settings if the iTunes library was in use.
I'm not sure if these behavior began when I upgraded iTunes or if an Apple TV automatic update occurred. Has anyone else noticed this? I've had to set the laptop to never sleep, which is not ideal

Sounds like a bug. I bet iTunes previously invoked caffeinate and the newest version doesn't - or it has too short a duration.

I actually set my MBP to never sleep until I close the lid. The only thing that happens is that the monitor shuts off after 20 minutes. I got too frustrated with network-using apps going all kerflunkt when losing their connection.
You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you.
