[Qwest] This is getting very old...

Happening as i post this.
So, I have been using this service for quite some time. As you all know, its called centurylink.

Now here is the issue, I've been dealing with these ridiculous lag spikes. It's even happening right now!

It usually strikes at random, hindering the use of YouTube, Facebook, and heck, most sites i go to take forever to load.

Who else is getting this issue? is there any fix?? I really don't want to go looking for a new service again.

Join the club. CenturyLink has a higher user limit on DSLAMs than qwest ever did, further burdening already overused equipment. They aren't going about upgrading much of it, unfortunately.

Call into Qwest 18002441111 and ask to speak to a onshore agent and ask about your DSLAM maybe you could be moved to a better one without any congestion.

Ping by itself will not tell you much. You need to do a traceroute to find out which hop(s) are the problem and then figure out who you need to yell at.

You should also understand that what that data is telling you is that it takes about a half second to get from your machine to the end point and back.

All the hoppers seem to be the blame. Its been almost 2 days, and its still hitting an average of 450 Ms of ping, with a max download speed of .75 Mbps.

It usually isn't this intense. Now its just out of control.

Maybe you are connected to a "diminished node" ?

Are there any other computers on your network?
If the ping is constantly that high then it could be that someone is using your connection for torrenting, which would also explain it being so slow.

Yep sounds like someone is using your connection that's the only time I've ever had high pings for every hop usually the first few are around 30ms
