See this is exactly why I was questioning Comcast's wisdom in being 100% cloud based. Why the hell would local recordings be unavailable? It's just a terrible design flaw. There's no reason for local recording to be unavailable just because of server problems. There should be a local cache of the core guide software and DB of recordings.

It's now 1:20pm Eastern - still cannot access anything on the DVR.

This is laughable. And, pretty obvious something REALLY got f'd up.
Probably will have to wait for overnight - but, I mean, hell - it's already broken - just push the update now.

Hey Jeep, it's approximately 2 hours after your post. I just got home from work and the DVR seems to be VERY sluggish. Took me 3 attempts at accessing a program on the DVR before I was successful.

*EDIT* So I was able to access my recordings but was unable to access VOD on the DVR. So I decided to try a reboot. Box rebooted, box is still moving sluggish but was able to access VOD however my current recordings disappeared. Was leaving feedback on a different message board while the DVR screen showed the message "There are no recordings at this time" and by the time I was done leaving my other message my recordings mysteriously reappeared!

I can't change the channel - bring up the guide, menu - nothing right now.

Get a message that i'm "stuck on Step 8".

Looks like the whole damn thing has fallen apart. Tried calling that number - been on hold for 20 minutes already.

Did that as well. Got a black screen for 5 minutes before a channel came on but still cant change channels or access anything, Matt.

I think they want to push us back to FIOS.

I can hear the channel finally came back on.

Still on hold - not sure if it's even worth it.

The HD box in my brother's room is unaffected. So guessing this issue is only affecting the DVR's?

Yeah I find it odd that my brother's HD is fine but the HD box downstairs is a brick. I really want to like the X1 and have for the most part but tonight is really trying my patience.

*Edit* HD Boxes are working again. DVR isn't. Jeep, what bar are we hitting tonight? LOL
