Apple Maps in the newsquote: Australia police discourage use of Apple maps app after rescues Police say they have rescued a half-dozen motorists in recent weeks who were using the app to navigate to a city only to find themselves stranded in the wilderness of a national park.

I have the 4, but use Waze (nearly exclusively).
Does the 4 provide turn by turn spoken navigation (I wasn't aware if it did)?
I was really asking if the (laughable) "Fly Over" imagery been fixed? |

» en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MilduraIts a city of 30,000 people how the heck do you misplace that? That is a big messup for Apple even more so than screwy overhead images. |

We've had since Sept 19th since iOS 6 was released.
iOS maps is still all horribly wrong. None of the changes I have submitted on day 2 were published.
Just put Google Maps back until it's fixed...... |

The Register has an interesting take on this story, apparently there are two Milduras. In this case, the Australian Gazetteer the authoritative list of 300,000-plus placenames, complete with coordinates includes two Milduras. One is the real town, the other is an entry for Mildura Rural City, coordinates -34.79724 141.76108. Its this second entry that points to the middle of the Murray-Sunset National Park, just near a spot called Rocket Lake. » www.theregister.co.uk/20 ··· mildura/ |

This is how the new Find My Phone shows me how to locate the phone that I'm holding in my hand. Unfortunately neither I nor the phone are in either location shown on the map. Apple should add a Map Preferences setting to allow users to set a default map for apps that use it. |
