First of all, what kind of VPN? What VPN software?

What error(s) are you seeing?

Are you connecting through a router? If so, how is it setup?

Please provide details about your network setup, the VPN in use, and the error(s) or specific symptoms of the problem you're seeing.

If it looks like truly a comcast issue, then you can always post in the comcast direct forum, but let's do some initial triage here first (note that this forum is public, so do not put any personal/account info in your posts here).

I am using my local area connection with a Wireless N-150 router.

Ok, I use that as well.

After you attempt to connect, try this:

1. click the icon in the systray
2. click advanced
3. click the "message history" tab.
4. copy and paste that info into this thread (you will likely want to mask out the last 2 octets of the IP addresses in there and/or host names, user names, etc). E.g. change 1.2.3.4 to 1.2.x.y and so on.

Another thing to try is to go somewhere with free wifi and see if you can connect to the VPN from there or a friends house with a different ISP. Just to rule out your company's end of things or your laptop VPN client installation.

You can also try running through the diagnostics to see if it sheds any light.

Under that same advanced window, there's a button labelled "Diagnostics...". I haven't ever run that, so I'm not sure what it does, but perhaps it will give more details.
