[hard drive] My Windows 8 64bit wont recognise my external HDD 3

I am not a tech savvy person so other threads have left me lost. I really need the stuff on the external HDD asap.

Was it off an Apple computer?

I'm not up on Windows 8, but somewhere in there like old flavours, you have control panel and then admin tools and see if disk management sees it.

This site shows how to get there in Win 8

No model number, No indication on any LED lights on the external HDD. Didn't mention anything on device manager, exp: did windows pick up the external drive. No mention is this a new hardrdive. Which then like norwegian suggest go to disk management.

Since you give me next to no info. I just start from the basic.

Sounds like an old drive, he/she has stuff on it.

But yeah, more information helps.

And certainly utterly valid...
