It could be as simple as a browser add-on or or a toolbar, etc...

Try to remember what you installed / downloaded that might have brought this with it.

If you see them everywhere, chances are that you either installed something recently or got infected by a drive by adware.

In any case I have now fiddled with some of the FF settings in "Options" and updated Adblock+ and that seems to have eliminated the problem. Not sure what did it tho. :)

Edit:

BTW there is a block incorporated in Adblock+ (EASYLIST Filters) - namely: "/intellitext."
