 | Leaf Blower Frustrations My leaf blower has been causing me a lot of problems lately. Starts fine and runs smooth for about 2-3 minutes but then it starts to bog down. When I give it gas it boggs down even more. After about 5-10 minutes it is useless and can only idle without stauling. Any tips? |

If you run it lean for too long it will burn out the rings.
Check the screen first as it is easy to get to. If you use regular oil, that is a likely problem (synthetic does not seem to cause this.)
On the carb there are usually adjustments for the mixture. They usually have caps on them to limit the range. Adjust the high rich until it just starts 4-cycling.
If you can't adjust it, it could be the screen in the carb inlet restricting gas flow; especially if there is no fuel filter. -- Scott Henion

 | reply to Frustrated88 Also check (and clean) the air filter or whatever passes for the air filter in your model. The work environment for blowing leaves is quite dusty, which builds up on the air filter surface. Then the carb will run lean and then stall for lack of intake air.
