kudos:1 | The Incredible Hulk -- 2014 TV Series Stumbled across this almost by accident but it looks like a new TV series focused around the Hulk will be coming to TV. The sad part is that its "yet another reboot" of the character as it will not figure into the existing Marvel movie-verse.

And that team is bill bixby and lou ferrigno. They nailed it.
The closet man to get close to the TV show, was Edward Norton as Banner. But I tend to think that is what the movie was aiming for, He was a much better pick then Eric Bana.
Mark Ruffalo did ok as Banner, though he didn't get that much screen time, so you didn't get to feel how well he fit into Banner's skin. Unlike Bana and Norton, or Bixby.
Be interesting to see how this develops. Disney will be wringing as much cash as it can outta marvel property and pixar.
And soon lucas properties.

| Yeah, regardless how the episode went, that music at the end made you feel bad for Banner.
Bixby and Ferrigno did the best job with the material.
I thought Ruffalo, even with very limited screen time in The Avengers did a pretty good job too.

Apparently, negotiations with Ed broke down for his return (according to IMDB). For what it's worth, I thought Eric did a good job on the first film, Ed was better. What I really wanted to see was another Hulk movie with Ed, picking up where his movie ended (ooh, that mischievous smile!).

Not to goo too far off topic but the name Ruffalo just brings up one image for me personally. Groo the Wanderer's dog. I know the spelling is a bit off, but in my mind Mark Ruffalo looks a lot like Rufferto

In the Banner debate, movie-wise Eric Bana was the worst*, I think everyone agrees, as was the first movie as a whole.
I did like Ed Norton and was disappointed to hear he wouldn't be reprising the role. He seemed to have just enough geekiness to pass as a scientist, and had the right amount of edginess for someone trying to control the beast within. And of course the story made the second movie a much better film.
Ruffalo didn't get that much screen time in the Avengers, but I didn't dislike him.
*Speaking of Bana, I think he was kind of a lame villain in the Star Trek reboot as well. Every time he spoke he sounded so... forced. |
