Re: Quantumvoice Residential Services being Discontinued 3/1/13
said by ConstantineM:Agreed, but it's been done before.
Closing accounts for existing customers which have already passed all fraud checks, setup questions etc etc must be the dumbest business decision ever.
Broadvox (not to be confused with Broadvoice) transferred all their residential accounts to PhonePower, as was said.
Packet8 (which changed its name to [8x8] thus doing an even stupider business decision) quite clearly decided to go down the business route, although continuing existing residential customers.
The money's on the business side....
said by ConstantineM:No, I expected this a couple of years ago.
I won't be surprised if the business customers are next.
TelNet is very business-oriented, and QV was small and stale as a residential VoIP brand. Probably few residential QV users were left.
After TWO successive buyouts, the haimish nature of the original QV was rather diluted....
TelNet is licensed as a CLEC in Michigan and Ohio. They have many products and services, but all oriented [towards] business.
