I've never set a homepage in IE as I don't use it, but I'm guessing you have something set like the above picture?
What three sites if I may ask? I'll try it on my end and see what happens.

However, just to see, I did click on your Hotmail link.
What I get is pictured above.
If you get that as well, then maybe that's why?

I changed the tabs to this.
»www.yahoo.com/ »www.facebook.com/login.php »www.abc12.com/
And it still crashes. bed time. -- Whoever said that ignorance is bliss wasn't refering to a person with a computer at his fingertips!

I then went and added the three sites you have as startup pages.
IE 9 opens without problems.
I am wondering if it has to do with an add-on, plug-in, or something like that.
Do you get any kind of error message or box on the screen when it crashes? Or it just the standard "Internet Explore has caused an issue and needs to close" box, with no detailed information.
Also, are you seeing any kind of warning, error, or critical event being logged at the time of the crash? I would suggest going into your event viewer, and clearing all the logs, and then running IE. Then, go back to the event viewer, and see what you get. There may be something there to help us troubleshoot the issue.

| In addition to looking at the Event Viewer logs, can you open the Action Center on the taskbar > Maintenance > View reliability history > View all problem reports
Can you right-click on a few of the "Internet Explorer" "Stopped working" errors > View technical details
What are the details of the errors?
There is a "Copy to Clipboard" link at the bottom.
Also, try the following and see if it helps with the error:
IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > remove the checkmark in front of "Enable third party browser extensions" > OK then restart IE.
If that does not help you can re-enable third party browser extensions.
If it does help, you would have to track down the third party browser extension causing the problem |

rfharThe World Sport, Played In Every CountryPremium join:2001-03-26 Buicktown,Mi | reply to rfhar Got it. I had to do a lot of playing with the Add ons because while trouble shooting there the problem tended to become intermittent. ,It was SimpleAdblock, now disabled.
I am glad it was an Add ons as the event viewer baffles me more every time I look at it. One of the problems of old age I think. I can remember one of our three year old grandchildren teaching my wife how to use the computer some years ago.
Thanks guys.
Auggy thanks for the input, I found the problem before I was able to read your post. If I have another problem in the future I will open the action first. -- Whoever said that ignorance is bliss wasn't refering to a person with a computer at his fingertips!
