 | [iPad] Pandora channel listings? my brother got our mother an iPad, and i installed the Pandora app. how can i get a list of channels on it? going to pandora's website just keeps opening the app. found a link that lists genre channels but it just redirects to the app and the channel search field
would really appreciate any help with this infuriating problem. |

| reply to Clutch_Head What do mean by "stations"? Pandora is about music discovery so typically you enter a genre or artist name (and maybe even a song name) and Pandora creates a "radio station" based on that "preference".
I found the list of genres this way: Stations >> Search >> tap on + >> Browse Genre Stations comes up and tap on that. -- ♬ Music is life ♬ |

For instance, enter Jazz or Christmas in that search box and there will be suggestions including the Genre Stations. |

 | reply to Clutch_Head she just signed up for pandora on her iPad. yes she has a couple of stations including the rolling stones
@darcilicious i can tap on the stations, but that just goes to that station. tapping the + in search does nothing.
creating a station based on artists is great but i want her to be able to browse the list of genre stations. |

I don't think you can do that with the app. As I suggested in my earlier post, if you type a generic music description in the search box, it will bring up genre stations related to the search, but I can't find a way to bring up "all" genre stations. Honestly, I don't see any reason to be able to do so. Pandora needs at least a little input from the user to be able to make suggestions. |

 | reply to Clutch_Head not being able to browse the genre stations, which i can on my PC is just plain stupid. |

robbinPremium,MVM join:2000-09-21 Leander, TX kudos:1 | reply to Clutch_Head OK -- what is going on when you go to Pandora.com is that it is redirected to the app. I believe that this is a function of Safari, the iPad, and the way apps work. I don't know if you can change that but I just tried Pandora with a couple of different browsers. Perfect Browser brings up a pop up screen advising that there is an app associated with that URL and asks if you want to use the app. iCabMobile doesn't recognize the app link and simply takes you to the web page. Once on the web page, you can browse genre stations just as on a regular computer, add the station, then go to the app and it should be in the list of stations. |

1 edit | reply to Clutch_Head ah, gotcha darcilicious. yeah i doesn't show that for the iPad.
[edit] going to pandora just brings up the "download app" screen. clicking the genre link i posted earlier just opens the app to the search field. [/edit] |

|
 | reply to Clutch_Head well it's confirmed that you can't browse the many genre stations on the iPad.
"Hi ****, Thanks for writing. You won't be able to get to the genre web page from the iPad, as you will be redirected to the app. You would need to go to a computer first, add the desired genre station and then that station would be available to listen to on the iPad.
